hot weather

ここ数日、ナイアガラでは30度を超える真夏日となっています。
そこで大学本部から届いたこのメール↓

Please be advised that the weather forecast for the next two days includes temperatures nearing 30°C and over 70% Relative Humidity. Higher than normal indoor temperatures on campus will be expected as the capacity of the central chilling plant will be exceeded. Please refrain from opening windows and operating any heat producing equipment which is not necessary as well as shut off any lighting that is not required. Offices with windows should close blinds when possible to keep out radiant heat.

要は「あまりの暑さに冷房が追いつかなくなるだろうから、窓を開けてブラインド下ろして、不必要な機械の電源は切って、乗り切りましょう」と。

………「寒いので冷房を弱めてください」なんて言えない。
気温30℃、湿度70%でも、日本の夏に比べたら快適だと思うけど、やはり、カナディアンとは温度感覚が違うのだなと実感しました（苦笑）。
